Vancouver Mural Festival is bringing 60 new murals to Mount Pleasant and Strathcona for 2017 – that’s 20 more than last year! The festival runs all week long (August 7 to 12) and includes speaker panels, gallery events, walking tours, and more.
Festivities culminate in a lively street party this Saturday, August 12 on Main Street (7th Avenue to 12th Avenue) from 12pm-6pm. We had a blast at last year’s event, weaving through the neighbourhood to find all the walls and celebrating the incredible work of our creative community.
What you need to know
- Check out the map of all the murals.
- Make plans from the list of events this week.
- Bid on exclusive Native Shoes hand-painted by local artists, in collaboration with and to benefit the Vancouver Mural Fest.
- Tag your photos @vanmuralfest and @districtlocal so we can follow along, too.
- Attendance of 100,000 people is expected for the street party – walk, hop on your bike, or take the transit.
