Sen Pad Thai Comes to Granville Island by way of Chef Angus An

Award-winning chef and restaurateur Angus An is set to open a new noodle stall at Granville Island next month. Inspired by food stands in Chanthaburi, Thailand, Sen Pai Thai’s focus will be variations of dry noodle dishes served in meal-sized portions, with optional accompaniments of snacks and sides. Sen Pad Thai will be open daily in the Net Loft building, adjacent to the Granville Island Public Market, and will share common-area seats with neighbouring vendors.

The menu will focus on stir fried noodles similar to pad Thai, flavoured with spices, herbs, and proteins like chicken, pork, beef, and seafood. Side dishes include Thai chicken wings and papaya salad, dessert and drink options will feature pandan, taro, and coconut, Pok Pok sodas and Thai iced tea. Sen Pad Thai will be open for eat-in or take-out orders.

Sen Pad Thai is the fifth addition to Chef Angus An’s family of eateries. Maenam, Chef Angus’s flagship Kitsilano restaurant and Vancouver magazine’s 2016 Restaurant of the Year, serves authentic Thai cuisine complemented by a smart wine list and range of Asian-inspired cocktails. Over in New West, sister restaurant Longtail Kitchen serves Thai street food, while Freebird Chicken Shack grills, fries, and roasts flavourful Asian-style chicken dishes. In Chinatown, Chef Angus’s serves up casual noodle soups and sides at Fat Mao Noodles.

We can’t wait to kick back at the Market with some tasty noodles and sip on refreshing Thai iced tea.
